Offset was shot Monday evening near a casino in Hollywood, Florida, his representative confirmed, adding that he was hospitalized and is now in stable condition.
According to CNN, several people were detained in connection with the shooting, as videos from the scene quickly spread on social media.
As speculation swirls around who was responsible, some have pointed to Lil Tjay. Here’s what to know about the incident and whether Lil Tjay was involved.
Police detained at least two individuals after arriving at the scene
Local authorities say the shooting occurred around 7 p.m. in the valet area of the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel. When police arrived, moments later captured on camera and widely shared on social media, they detained at least two people, though we do not know their identities right now. Officials said another individual sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
According to CNN, the injured person was transported to Memorial Regional Hospital. The Seminole Police Department hasn’t identified the victim or those detained.
“The site is secure and there is no threat to the public,” the Department said. “Operations continue as normal.”
As for Offset, his spokesperson told XXL that the rapper is receiving medical care and is being “closely monitored” in the hospital.
Lil Tjay’s lawyer denies shooting involvement after rapper’s Florida arrest
After news of the shooting broke, many speculated that Lil Tjay was involved, as he and Offset had recently clashed, and outlets have reported that he was arrested “in connection” with the incident, though other deatils about the shooting, including the identity of the shooter, are unknown.
According to the New York Post, their feud dates back to last year, when Lil Tjay accused Offset of being “broke” and having a gambling addiction. He claimed he lent Offset $10,000 at a casino after seeing him “panicking” and asking others for money via Cash App.
Lil Tjay alleged that Offset never repaid the loan and said he told the Migos rapper to “get it back in blood.”
Offset pushed back on those claims at the time, challenging Lil Tjay to a one-on-one fight in March 2025 and saying he planned to broadcast it, though the match never materialized.
On Tuesday, Lil Tjay’s attorney, Dawn Florio, denied any involvement and claimed that the 24-year-old wasn’t connected to the shooting, Complex reported. She also claimed he hasn’t been charged, despite reports circulating online.
“We are issuing this release in regards to false rumors that Lil Tjay was involved in a shooting which occurred at the valet area of the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel, which resulted in non-life-threatening injuries to Offset, formerly a member of Migos,” Florio wrote on Instagram.
She added, “Lil Tjay has not been shot, nor has Lil Tjay been charged with any shooting. Any reporting to the contrary is false. We encourage people to consult trusted news sources and verify the accuracy of any reporting before sharing or repeating baseless rumors.”
Seminole Police records show Lil Tjay was arrested Monday on a misdemeanor disorderly conduct charge in Florida, Complex later reported. Authorities took him into custody with an additional capias traffic charge tied to driving without a valid license.
According to TMZ, a report also noted that Lil Tjay was “involved in a fight” with unidentified individuals before the shooting.
